Phapros Expands Export Market Opportunities through the 2026 Indonesia–Brunei Darussalam Business Forum and Business Matching

As part of its efforts to expand its international markets, PT Phapros Tbk participated in the Indonesia–Brunei Darussalam Business Forum and Business Matching on Pharmaceutical Products, held on August 2–4, 2026, in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. The event was an opportunity to explore a new export market and understand product registration, government tenders, and pharmaceutical demand in Brunei.

Phapros’ participation aligns with the international expansion strategy of the state-owned pharmaceutical holding group, Bio Farma Group. Brunei is a potential market because a substantial share of its pharmaceutical requirements is met through imports. The Embassy of Indonesia in Bandar Seri Begawan coordinated with Brunei’s Ministry of Health and pharmaceutical and medical-device distributors to open opportunities for Indonesian businesses.

The program began with a gala dinner attended by Indonesia’s Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Achmad Ubaedillah, alongside representatives of the Indonesian Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The main agenda took place on August 3 at Hotel Mulia, bringing Indonesian pharmaceutical companies together with distributors, importers, and healthcare stakeholders through the business forum and matching sessions.

Phapros presented its company profile, capabilities, and product portfolio to prospective partners. It explored discussions with eight entities: six distributors, one importer, and one other organization. The talks covered opportunities for tablets and injectable products, tender requirements, and specific needs of the Epidemic Intelligence Response Unit (EIRU).

The meetings also provided initial information about distribution channels, product registration, tender opportunities, and possible cooperation models with local partners. The preliminary assessment indicated that all prospective partners merited follow-up, although their strengths differed in distribution reach, portfolio, registration experience, and willingness to collaborate. Overall, the forum enabled Phapros to better understand Brunei’s pharmaceutical market, identify partner needs, assess registration and tender opportunities, and map potential local distributors.

Next steps include contacting priority distribution partners, matching Phapros products to Brunei’s market requirements, reviewing registration and market-access conditions, and assessing prospects for tender participation. These findings are expected to inform Phapros’ market-entry strategy and priorities in Brunei Darussalam.

By joining the forum, Phapros not only introduced Indonesian pharmaceutical products to an international audience but also laid the groundwork for partnerships and gathered market insights for sustainable export business development.
