TREE PLANTING AT THE END OF THE YEAR
The alumni of SMAN 1 Ungaran class of 1985 held a reunion at Maron Beach and Maroon Mangrove Edu Park in Semarang on Sunday, December 30, 2018. The reunion was attended by around 30 people accompanied by the Phapros CSR team.
At 6:00 am, they departed from the old Ahmad Yani airport in Semarang, using a truck supported by the Ahmad Yani Naval Base in Semarang, heading to Maron Beach.
The event began with a joint exercise led by two Women's Corps instructors, followed by a trash pick-up around Maron Beach and the road leading to Maroon Mangrove Edu Park, which is approximately 200 meters away. The activity continued with the planting of 50 mangrove seedlings at Maroon Mangrove Edu Park, with the type of mangrove being "Rizopora," which can be used as a natural dye for making batik.
The alumni of SMAN 1 Ungaran class of 1985 also enjoyed the facilities at MMEP, such as taking a boat ride around the mangrove tunnel and fishing, which made the event seem fun and exciting.
The purpose of this activity was to maintain health through exercise and participate in preserving the environment by picking up trash and planting mangroves, which began by increasing the knowledge of the alumni through environmental education, while also campaigning for the Mangrove Preservation Program in the coastal area of North Semarang Beach. It is hoped that this positive virus can be transmitted to the respective alumni's places of residence, so that awareness of health and the environment can spread, resulting in increased public health and the preservation of Indonesia's nature.
