Surviving amidst Covid-19 Pandemic, Phapros Wins Anugrah BUMN Award 2021
PT Phapros Tbk, subsidiary of PT Kimia Farma Tbk, won an award for the Survival and Growth Strategy Category at the 2021 BUMN Award on Thursday night (8/4) in Jakarta. Carrying the theme of Strategy and Transformation in the Midst of a Pandemic, the BUMN Award is an event to appreciate the contribution of SOEs that have shown transformational progress and superior strategies to survive during the pandemic.
The award was given to Phapros based on the results of the independent assessment of the judges who are experts in their fields. Among them were the first Minister of BUMN and the BUMN Expert Council Track Tanri Abeng, INDEF Senior Economic Observer Enny Sri Hartati, General Manager of BUMN Track Ahmed Kurnia, and CEO of Nielsen Indonesia 2014-2020 & Chairman of BUMN Track Consulting Agus Nurudin.
President Director of PT Phapros Tbk, Hadi Kardoko said that he appreciated the performance of all stakeholders who played a major role in encouraging Phapros to continue surviving the odds in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. “This pandemic has an impact on all industries, including pharmaceuticals. However, we are still able to formulate a new strategy to keep growing,” he said.
In surviving the Covid-19 pandemic era, Phapros implemented several efficiency strategies and maximized digitalization in all operational and supporting business lines. In the marketing sector, the strategy adopted is to shift the product portfolio from initially relying on the travel sector with its flagship product, Antimo, to being more focused on multivitamin products and other products related to Covid-19.
"In addition, Phapros also optimizes all channels that can be used in order to increase performance growth in the middle of the pandemic. One of them is the synergy with the parent company, PT Kimia Farma Tbk, to boost the performance and develop products related to Covid-19 treatments, both promotive, preventive, and curative products to fulfill the product pipeline, "Hadi explained.
On the other hand, the Chairman of the BUMN Award, Tanri Abeng, stated that the assessment of the BUMN Award is open to all BUMN, BUMN subsidiaries, and BUMN that have gone public. “Although the assessment process is conducted online, the criteria remain the same. We are still looking at how the company's strategy and performance is to survive and grow in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic," he said.
