Phapros Aids the Victims of Greater Jakarta Floods Alongside BUMN Farmasi
Jakarta, 9th of January 2020 - PT Phapros Tbk, a subsidiary of PT Kimia Farma (Persero), Tbk, took part in collaboration with BUMN Farmasi in handling floods in the Greater Jakarta Area.
Phapros, with other fellow state-owned pharmaceutical industries such as Biofarma, Indofarma, and its parent company Kimia Farma, had joined forces to help the community affected by the floods in Jatiasih, Bekasi, Jawa Barat.
Jatiasih was chosen as the location for BUMN Farmasi Post-Disaster Shelter, as the said location was one of the most affected by the flood. The water depth at the time of the flood reached more than two meters, forcing residents to take refuge.
President Director of PT Phapros Tbk, Barokah Sri Utami said that she had mobilized CSR team to help the community who were in dire need of immediate treatments after the floods in the beginning of year.
“Here in Bekasi, we sinergize within the BUMN Farmasi post-flood shelter where foods, medicines, logistics, and sanitary needs are provided to treat the victims and recover the damage caused by the floods”, said Barokah.
Emmy also added that the same assistance had been distributed to flood-affected residents in Bogor in cooperation with local BPBD. The medicines in which Phapros provided are paracetamols and antibiotics to prevent any possible infections.
In addition to collaborating with BUMN Farmasi shelter in Bekasi, Phapros also collaborated with various institutions such as Human Initiative, BNPB, PMI DKI Jakarta to help the flood victims.
"Together with the Human Initiative and PMI DKI Jakarta, we have provided a number of assistance needed by the community in the DKI Jakarta area. We hope this assistance can ease the burden of residents affected by the Greater Jakarta floods in early 2020, "she added.
