Optimize Blood Stock Before Ramadan, PMI and Phapros Employees Hold a Blood Donation Drive

The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Semarang City in collaboration with PT Phapros Tbk held a blood drive in an effort to optimize blood stock ahead of the holy month of Ramadan. This activity was carried out as a step to anticipate the need for blood which usually increases during the month of Ramadan.

Blood drives were held for two days, on February 17, 2025 at the Avicena Building of the Simongan Factory and on February 18, 2025 at the Imam Bonjol Office. The blood drive targeted the participation of 120 donors. TJSL collaborates with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Central Java Province and also the Semarang City PMI to always work together to provide the best health services for employees, considering the many benefits of regular blood donation.

“As a national pharmaceutical company, Phapros is committed to supporting social activities that benefit the community. Blood drives like this one ahead of the holy month of Ramadan are a concrete manifestation of our commitment to helping meet the blood supply needs in Semarang,” said Asyera Dewi Barita, CSR Manager of PT Phapros Tbk.

On this blood drive, CSR included Marifood to contribute samples of products that are not well known to many people and explain them. Some of the products offered are Chia C, a powdered drink high in vitamin C and containing chia seeds that can be used as a substitute for infused water, and also Kongbap, a mixture of grains that can be cooked with rice, which is useful for producing rice that is high in fiber and lower in sugar content. All participants who successfully passed the blood donor test also received free samples.

In the Semarang City PMI, blood stocks are normal and sufficient. However, this kind of anticipation is very important to ensure that the availability of blood remains stable with this blood donation action. The Semarang City PMI hopes that blood stocks will be maintained during Ramadan. Activities like this are also a reminder of the importance of social awareness in maintaining the availability of blood for those in need.

The enthusiasm of Phaproser personnel, who are quite large every time there is a blood donation activity, provides positive energy and a good image for external parties (PMI), so that it makes TJSL always committed to continuing to hold routine blood donation activities. In the next blood donation activity, TJSL hopes that more Phaproser personnel will participate in the opportunity to donate blood in order to maintain health and strengthen the immune system and also strengthen the sense of solidarity among others.
