Commemorating Youth Pledge: Phapros Provides Rapid Test Kit Package Assistance to Dermawan (Food Safety Alert Cadre) Semarang City

The Semarang City Government held a ceremony to commemorate the 96th Youth Pledge Day at the Semarang City Hall Courtyard with a series of inspirational activities, Monday, October 28, 2024.
“So today we make it special for Youth Pledge Day so that there is meaning. So it's not just a ceremony. Therefore, we asked related OPDs, the Secretary and assistants to display all the works of the youth,” said Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, Mayor of Semarang.
The activities in this Youth Pledge moment were colored with activities aimed at strengthening food security, including the handover of 1 (one) package of Food Safety Rapid Test Kit by PT Phapros Tbk to the Semarang City Government, in order to improve food safety in Semarang City. The Rapid Test Kit was symbolically handed over by Asyera Dewi Barita as Manager of Social and Environmental Responsibility of PT Phapros Tbk to the Mayor of Semarang, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu.
The existence of food that has not met food safety standards such as the lack of good hygiene and sanitation practices in the process of processing to serving food, resulting in microbiologically contaminated food which is the largest contributor to cases of food-related illness.
Therefore, it is necessary to ensure the quality and safety of food by implementing good practices in the food sector through pre and post market supervision and increasing public knowledge and awareness of the importance of food safety. One of the efforts to improve supervision is the procurement of Rapid Test Kit for DERMAWAN (Food Safety Alert Cadre) Semarang City.   
“With the Rapid Test Kit, we hope to improve the performance of field supervision more effectively and efficiently as a form of government protection of food safety in Semarang City,” said Endang Sarwiningsih Setyawulan, Head of Semarang City Food Security Agency.
In addition to the Rapid Test Kit handover, in this series of Youth Pledge Day commemorations, the launch of the Kocil (Koki Cilik) Magic Recipe Book was held, which contains a collection of healthy food recipes created by young children. This book is expected to be a reference for the nutritious lunch program in 2025.
There were also Green Building and Smart Farming innovation exhibitions participated by several universities such as Soegijapranata Catholic University (Unika) and Semarang State University (UNNES), and involved the collaboration of various parties in displaying innovations that are relevant to the environment and the future.
This series of inspirational activities is expected to encourage youth creativity, become a momentum for the commemoration of the 2024 Youth Pledge, as well as advance nutrition and environmental resilience in Semarang City.
