Achieves Green PROPER, PT Phapros Tbk Integrates Sustainable Environmental and Social Programs

PT Phapros Tbk again won the 9th Green PROPER award at the 2025 PROPER Awards which were held on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Sasono Langen Budoyo, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, East Jakarta. The award was received by Bhisma Akbar Pradana, the former EHS Manager. Out of 4,495 companies participating in the PROPER program, only 227 achieved the Green Rating.

The Green PROPER award was won by PT Phapros Tbk, which obtained a rating of beyond compliance. This means that PT Phapros Tbk not only complies with laws and regulations but also contributes added value in the form of efficient utilization of natural resources, establishing qualified energy conservation, and carrying out social development in the surrounding community.

The PROPER award is a program of the Ministry of Environment in an effort to improve the quality and management of the environment and society. The PROPER assessment evaluation is carried out annually, where companies will gain a reputation according to the environmental and social management that has been carried out by the company.

This achievement is a form of hard work from all elements of the company and related stakeholders in realizing the integration of sustainable environmental and social programs. The PROPER award obtained in 2025 is the result of an assessment of the company's performance during the 2023-2024 period. The PROPER program itself has a stimulant effect on companies to comply with environmental regulations and add value to the conservation of natural resources and community empowerment.

This environmental award is given for the Green PROPER rating, Gold Rating, and green leadership. This year's award was given directly by the Minister of Environment and the PROPER Advisory Board, accompanied by the Deputy for Pollution Control and Environmental Damage of the Ministry of Environment.

The series of environmental awarding events began with the opening, a PROPER implementation report by the Deputy for Pollution and Environmental Damage Control of the Ministry of Environment, directions from the Minister of Environment, the awarding of the Green PROPER award, the awarding of the green leadership award, and the awarding of the gold PROPER award.

The Minister of Environment, Dr. Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, in this awarding also conveyed several directions related to the implementation of PROPER. From these directions, it was conveyed that PROPER has continued to experience an increase in the number of companies during the last two decades. The results of the PROPER evaluation have also been submitted to the President of the Republic of Indonesia with an increase in the number of Eco Innovations, an increase in the number of programs contributing to the SDGs, and an increase in community empowerment funds. In the future, PROPER will become an instrument for the integration of company and government programs.

In this assessment period, there were 4495 PROPER participating companies with 2961 compliant companies, 1329 non-compliant companies, and 205 companies in the process of law enforcement or not operating. Then from the results of the performance assessment, 85 companies obtained PROPER Gold and 227 companies obtained PROPER Green. In the green leadership category, six company leaders received the title of primary green leadership, and eight company leaders received the title of intermediate green leadership.

The environmental programs run by PT Phapros Tbk are carried out in the aspects of natural resource conservation from energy efficiency, emission reduction, reduction of B3 waste, 3R of non-B3 solid waste, water efficiency and reduction of water pollution load, and biodiversity protection. PT Phapros Tbk also conducts life cycle assessment studies for product group representatives. The eco innovation program for energy efficiency aspects is the Boiler Technology Transfer with a total energy efficiency of 2399.15 GJ, the eco innovation program for emission reduction aspects is Operational Modification of the Central Compressed Air System Setting with an emission reduction of 166.4 tons of CO2eq, the eco-innovation program for reducing B3 waste, Reuse of Endotoxins, Glass and Sterile Tips with a reduction of 0.337 tons of B3 waste, the 3R eco-innovation program for non-B3 solid waste, Wypall Reduction with a reduction of 0.0237 tons of non-B3 waste, and the eco-innovation program for water efficiency, Reuse of Backwash Multi-Media Filter 1239 m3. The cost savings obtained from the flagship program of Boiler Technology Transfer innovation amounted to IDR 2,295,286,216.79 in 2024.

In addition, in the social aspect, PT Phapros Tbk also carries out a community empowerment program in the Company's ring 1 area, namely Bongsari Village, with flagship programs of Posmantiv, Dunia Snack Bongsari, and Child-Friendly Schools. Community empowerment and biodiversity conservation are also carried out at PGOT Mardi Utomo with the flagship program Taman Pelangi (Rainbow Park). In terms of disaster response, PT Phapros Tbk also helps respond to disaster issues at the regional to international level.

On the other hand, Ida Rahmi Kurniasih as Acting. President Director of PT Phapros Tbk expressed her hopes for winning the GREEN PROPER Award. Ida said that Phapros is always committed to preserving the environment. This award proves that Phapros is one of the companies that applies the principles of a green economy, where the concept of a green economy seeks to improve the welfare and social equality of society (elimination of poverty) while reducing the impact of environmental damage risk.

The achievement of the green PROPER obtained by PT Phapros Tbk will be the company's attention to continue optimizing the best performance in environmental and social governance to support the realization of sustainable development and benefits for the environment and the surrounding community as well as being the target of the company's key performance indicator set for 2025.
