Winning the Energy and Water Conservation Champion, Phapros Initiates the Implementation of Green Industry and Sustainable Business.

The Energy and Water Conservation Movement Awards (HEA) in Central Java Province is an annual routine activity as a form of appreciation given by the Provincial Government of Central Java through the Energy and Mineral Resources Agency to Government Agencies within the District/City and Industries in Central Java that have implemented energy and water conservation. Participants of this activity are government agencies and industries selected directly by the Central Java Energy and Mineral Resources Agency which consistently carry out energy and water conservation efforts. During the event, participants are not charged for registration or selection processes. The series of activities begins with notification and invitation of selected participants followed by visits by assessment teams to the locations of government agencies or companies. After the assessment visits, the assessment team evaluates and selects participants to be among the top three in the best government agency category and top three in the best industry category. The award ceremony, the highlight of the event, is held in conjunction with the Central Java Earth Day Celebration in 2024.

The assessment of the Energy and Water Conservation Movement is carried out by three assessors from government agencies, academia, and industry. The assessment team consists of Nanang Aribowo, S.T (Infrastructure and Natural Resources Bureau, Central Java Provincial Secretariat), Prof. Dr. Djoko Adi Widodo, M.T. (Professor in Solar Energy at the Department of Electrical Engineering Education, Semarang State University), and Edi Laksono Riadi (PT SUCOFINDO Branch Semarang). The criteria assessed regarding energy and water conservation movements include commitment, energy or water performance indicators, operational & maintenance, significant energy or water users, identification of energy or water saving potentials, review or reevaluation, and management review. The Phapros team involved in the assessment of energy and water conservation movements consists of the Utility Department, EHS Department, and Integrated Systems Department. Throughout the assessment, the Phapros team received full support from company leadership with the presence and welcome from Acting President Director Mrs. Ida Rahmi Kurniasih.

After undergoing a series of assessment processes, Phapros successfully won the 2nd Prize for the industry category for consistently implementing energy and water conservation movements within Central Java Province in 2024. Awards were given to three government agencies and three industries in Central Java. The government agencies receiving the awards include the Salatiga City Secretariat, Semarang City Secretariat, and Batang District Secretariat. The industries receiving the awards include PT Bintang Indokarya Gemilang in Brebes District, PT Phapros Tbk, and PT Kino Indonesia in Demak District. The award ceremony was held on April 22, 2024, attended directly by the Acting Governor of Central Java at Taman Syailendra Dieng, Wonosobo District. In this culminating event, Phapros was represented by Utility Manager Mr. Arie Wicaksono and EHS Manager Mr. Bhisma Akbar Pradana who received the awards directly in the form of pins and certificates of appreciation.

The receipt of this award marks a good start for Phapros to continue its programs and innovations related to energy and water efficiency and other environmental innovations. Innovations in environmental conservation, especially in energy and water efficiency aspects, can increase awareness of the importance of environmentally friendly production activities, thus creating sustainable businesses.
