Synergy of Phapros' 70 Years: Always Committed to Improving the Nation's Health

JAKARTA, June 25, 2024 - PT Phapros Tbk, part of the state-owned pharmaceutical holding, celebrated its 70th anniversary last week. With the theme "Synergy We Can," Phapros is committed to enhancing collaboration with various parties to support the improvement of public health. One such synergy is the support for the stunting eradication program in Semarang City and surrounding areas.

During the flag-off of the fun walk participants at PT Phapros Tbk's plant on Saturday (22/6), the Mayor of Semarang, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, popularly known as "Mbak Ita," discussed her program specifically aimed at eradicating stunting in Semarang City. She also expressed her hope that industry players could actively support this effort and make Semarang a Child-Friendly City.

In line with this, Acting President Director of PT Phapros Tbk, Ida Rahmi Kurniasih, stated that Phapros fully supports various health programs launched in Semarang City and nationally. "We have had direct discussions with Mbak Ita, the Mayor of Semarang, about programs we can undertake to support the sustainability of the Child-Friendly City (KLA) designation that Semarang City has held since 2023," she said.

"From Phapros' perspective as a manufacturer of medicines and multivitamins, we already have an Iron Tablet product used to prevent anemia in pregnant women and adolescent girls at risk of causing stunting during future pregnancies, with a national program coverage of 60.96% in 2023. Moving forward, various collaborative programs can be even more closely implemented, including through Phapros' Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) activities, such as establishing a daycare center," Ida added. A daycare center would allow children to be closer to their mothers at work and serve as a means for stunting prevention and monitoring children's growth and development to ensure they remain healthy and well.

"Daycare can be a means of preventing stunting because children's nutritional intake and growth will be well monitored. The stunting prevention program is also one of Phapros' TJSL focus programs over the past few years. One example is our collaboration with health centers and daycare centers in Semarang City to intervene with some children identified as stunted by providing supplementary food (PMT) and multivitamins for 90 days, significantly improving their growth and health," said Ida.

Ida also explained that Phapros is committed to ensuring the availability of its multivitamin products to support the Government's efforts in eradicating stunting. "Our products can reach upstream to downstream, such as iron tablets and special children's multivitamins that can support their healthier growth and development," she explained.

In addition to collaborating with the Semarang City Government, Phapros also partnered with other parties for the 70th anniversary celebrations, including Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital, MPKU (General Health Guidance Council) of Muhammadiyah City of Semarang, and the Bongsari Village Government for the mass circumcision program; the Food Security Agency of Semarang City for the Affordable and Safe People's Food Market program; the Environmental Agency of Semarang City and the Bongsari Village Government for the 70-tree planting program; and Ngemplak Simongan Health Center for the free health check-up program.

"We hope that the various activities conducted as part of Phapros' 70th anniversary celebration will greatly benefit the community and prove that Phapros, having been present nationally for seven decades, remains committed to improving the nation's health," concluded Ida.
