Phapros (PEHA) Commemorates Its 71st Anniversary with a Fun Walk and Catfish Stocking in Banjir Kanal Barat, Semarang
SEMARANG, June 21, 2025 – PT Phapros Tbk., a national pharmaceutical company, celebrates its 71st anniversary by organizing a fun walk and catfish stocking in Banjir Kanal Barat, alongside other positive activities in Semarang on Saturday (June 21, 2025). The fun walk was attended by hundreds of participants who had gathered at the Phapros factory location on Jl. Simongan No. 131, Semarang, since 5:30 AM. Around 800 people wore light blue t-shirts styled in the 1980s fashion.
During the Fun Walk event, Phapros' board of directors performed the catfish stocking by releasing 2,106 catfish in Banjir Kanal Barat, Semarang. The number 2,106 corresponds to Phapros' founding date, June 21, 1954. On the same occasion, Acting President Director of Phapros, Ida Rahmi Kurniasih, explained that catfish were chosen due to their ability to adapt to freshwater environments. The presence of catfish is also expected to help control mosquito larvae populations and improve water quality naturally. Furthermore, she added, this catfish stocking is a manifestation of Phapros' commitment to environmental conservation, particularly aquatic ecosystems, which play a vital role in life. This aligns with the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) pillar focusing on environmental preservation and education. Ida mentioned that Banjir Kanal Barat was selected as the catfish stocking site because it is a vital infrastructure that serves as a flood control system and has the potential to be a natural habitat for various aquatic species.
"The theme of Phapros' 71st anniversary, 'Rise to Unite Goals,' signifies the effort of all Phapros people to remain committed to achieving the company's noble objectives. This celebration is our way of expressing gratitude for the company's existence and journey over the past 71 years, contributing to society. Entering its 71st year, Phapros, as part of the Biofarma Group, is committed to continuing to provide benefits to society, the nation, and the state," said Ida.
In addition to the catfish stocking and fun walk, Phapros' anniversary celebration was filled with various activities, such as a talk show with the theme "Preserving Heritage, Meeting Challenges," interdepartmental employee competitions, a traditional rice cone (tumpengan), and a joint prayer for all Phapros employees. At the end of the event, the participants were treated to music, food, door prizes, and announcements for the best 1980s-themed costume in the fun walk. "We certainly hope that the entire anniversary series strengthens the pride, happiness, and togetherness among all stakeholders, which will ultimately foster a sense of ownership, loyalty, innovation, and continuous improvement within Phapros," Ida emphasized.
