Kimia Farma Group Teaching: A Healthy Generation for a Stronger Future

Kimia Farma as a healthcare company that supports the improvement of Indonesian people's health held another Kimia Farma Group Teaching Program in 2024. With the theme “Healthy Generation for a Stronger Future”, Kimia Farma collaborates with subsidiaries such as Phapros, KFA, KFTD, KFD, KFSP and also SIL. This activity was carried out on Monday, August 19, 2024 simultaneously in 53 high school level schools (equivalent) spread across several working areas of Kimia Farma subsidiaries and with a target number of 5,300 students and 530 teaching volunteers.

This nationwide target aims to improve the quality of health education for high school students, realize optimal educational infrastructure for schools, create a generation that cares about health by reducing stunting rates, and as a series of activities for Kimia Farma's 53rd Anniversary and the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

PT Phapros Tbk took part in Kimia Farma Group Teaching activities by targeting 5 high school / vocational schools located around Ring I of the company including SMKN 1, SMKN 9, SMAN 6, SMK 1 Muhammadiyah and Teuku Umar High School. This employee involvement is also intended to increase employee engagement so as to increase the sense of concern from employees for the health of the nation's next generation and increase the company's brand awareness among the wider community. A total of 33 employees actively participated as volunteers with professional backgrounds, mostly pharmacists, midwives, and other professions.

Kimia Farma Group Teaching activities simultaneously started at 08.00 - 12.00 WIB which was previously preceded by a flag ceremony or adjusted to the school conditions. Volunteers in each school amounted to 6 - 8 teachers according to the number of classes provided. The volunteers delivered 2 materials including:

1. Prevention of Anemia in Adolescence in terms of stunting prevention.

Teachers try to provide an understanding of the importance of vitamin supplements and the impact on health, especially for adolescent girls from an early age which correlates with the long-term impact as prospective young mothers for stunting prevention. Not only about the importance of blood tablets, in order to maintain the health of the body, healthy and nutritious food is still needed, balanced with regular exercise.

2. How to Use Good Medicine with the Concept of DAGUSIBU.

As we know DAGUSIBU or known as “Get Use Save and Dispose” must also be applied in schools. Students must also understand the proper way to use medicine, including how to dispose of drugs that have expired. Proper disposal of drugs can reduce the impact on the school environment.

In addition to teaching activities, Phapros also provided 1 unit of printer and 5 boxes of blood supplement tablets for each school. Overall, Kimia Farma Teaching activities received positive appreciation from the school and students. It is expected that Kimia Farma Group Teaching activities will be held again in the following year with a much more interesting concept.
