Further Attempt to Stop the COVID-19 Spread, Phapros Provides Multivitamins and Hand Sanitizers to Semarang City Government

 

Semarang, 27th of March 2020 - PT Phapros Tbk (PEHA) - subsidiary to PT Kimia Farma Tbk (KAEF)- has done numerous efforts in order to anticipate the COVID-19 outbreak. One of them is the handover of multivitamins and hand sanitizers to the Semarang Municipal Government Health Service. This similar assistance had been given to the Central Java Provincial Government on Monday (3/23).

President Director of PT Phapros, Tbk, Barokah Sri Utami (Emmy) said, 100 boxes of multivitamins produced by Phapros (Becefort) and 100 liters worth of hand sanitizers had been given to Semarang City Government so that it will be distributed to the community in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission"

“ We may realize that hand sanitizers and multivitamins are now the most wanted products here in this situation, so we try to continuously fulfill the people their medical needs to protect themselves from Covid-19 transmission. This particular effort is one of our responsibilities in fulfilling the public health needs,” Emmy said in the event of handover ceremony at Semarang City Hall hosted by the Mayor of Semarang, Hendrar Prihadi (Hendi).

Emmy also said that although Covid-19 is currently endemic in Indonesia, she confirmed that the  activities at the Phapros Production Plant -which located in Simongan, Semarang- are still operating normally.

“We now have a special protocol to mitigate the Covid-19 transmission in our workplace. In the meantime, our business activities at the plant continue to run normally. We are still producing medicines and multivitamins. We also facilitate our employees with influenza shots, face masks, hand sanitizers, and vitamins to minimize the risk of transmitting the disease”  Emmy added.

Furthermore, Director of Finance, Human Capital and General Affairs, Heru Marsono, has been giving the employees and stakeholders instruction to implement “Social Distancing”, not leaving the house unless there are urgent matters, maintain a healthy lifestyle, exercise regularly, continuously wash hands after visiting public areas, avoid stress and alcoholic beverages, and eat only nutritious food.

On the other hand, the Mayor of Semarang, Hendrar Prihadi, said that he really appreciated the assistance Phapros had provided for the city.  “We are truly thankful for Phapros. Multivitamins and Hand Sanitizers are very much needed by the people in the community amid the limited supply of these products on the market.” He added.

The number of COVID-19 patients in Central Java as of March 25, 2020 increased to 38, in which 15 patients are undergoing isolation in several hospitals in Semarang. Corona Virus Disease 2019 or commonly abbreviated as Covid-19 is an infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, a type of coronavirus. Covid-19 patients can experience fever, dry cough, and shortness of breath.
