Commemorating Antimo's 50th anniversary, Phapros provides assistance to children suffering from hydrocephalus.
Semarang, September 30th 2022 – PT Phapros Tbk, a member of the State-Owned Pharmaceutical Holding, provided assistance to children with hydrocephalus through the Wisma Kasih Bunda Foundation owned by one of the country's fashion designers, Anne Avantie, located in Semarang, Central Java today, Friday (30/9).
The Production Director of PT Phapros Tbk, Ida Rahmi Kurniasih, stated that this donation was a form of gratitude from Phapros, where this year one of their living legend brands, Antimo, reached its 50th anniversary.
"Besides being a form of gratitude, we provide this donation to the Wisma Kasih Bunda Foundation to ease the burden of families with children with hydrocephalus. Ms. Anne has long been committed to helping those who need expensive hydrocephalus surgery, and we also have a Sustainable Social Responsibility Program in the Health sector, so at this right moment, we collaborate with Ms. Anne Avantie's foundation to alleviate the burden of our brothers and sisters who are in need," said Ida.
"Hydrocephalus is the most common central nervous system disorder that occurs in infants, children, and adolescents. Hydrocephalus is a condition characterized by an abnormally enlarged head size of a baby. This condition can occur due to the accumulation of fluid in the ventricles of the brain, causing the brain to swell. The prevalence of hydrocephalus in Indonesia reaches 10 per thousand per year, with incidence ranging between 0.2-4 per 1000 births. For Phapros itself, efforts to treat hydrocephalus have also become one of our focuses in developing products, where Phapros currently has a product resulting from the localization of research collaboration with Universitas Gadjah Mada and domestic researchers, namely INAShunt. This product falls into the category of medical devices with a tube-like shape that functions to drain excess fluid in the brains of hydrocephalus patients," she added.
On the other hand, Anne Avantie, the owner of Yayasan Wisma Kasih Bunda, appreciated the assistance provided by Phapros in commemorating the 50th anniversary of Antimo. "We are very grateful to Phapros for what they have given us today. Fifty years is a long journey for Antimo, and apparently within it, there is a blessing that can be given to these special children through our foundation," she said.
Ida also stated that today's event is the beginning of several series of events commemorating Antimo's 50th anniversary. "We will not stop at just this event, there are several social events that we will hold in remote areas of Indonesia such as Sabang Island in Aceh, and several other regions. This is done as a form of appreciation for all the loyalty given by Antimo's loyal customers and our partners such as traders who have also supported the existence of Antimo for 50 years of our journey. We hope that Antimo will continue to be top of mind and always be a choice for family travel companions," she concluded.
