Amidst COVID 19 Pandemic, Phapros Distributes Social Assistance to The Community and Its Retirees
Semarang, 13rd of May 2020 - PT Phapros Tbk, one of the subsidiaries owned directly by PT Kimia Farma Tbk, distributed 800 packages of Social Assistance - or most people refer to as “bansos”- to the community and Phapros retirees who were affected directly around its operational area in Semarang, Central Java.
The Director of Finance, Heru Marsono, remarked during his welcoming speech that the assistance provided by the company, is in the form of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT). "We come up with the idea of giving Non-Cash Food Assistance in order to ease off the pressure on the people of rural areas and Phapros retirees who are directly affected by the Covid-19 outbreak. This is also one of our initiatives to support the Government's program to help underprivileged people who are suffering financial and welfare issues due to the pandemic. We are also cooperating with the Urban Administration Office as well as Local Neighborhood and Community Association in collecting the data, " Heru added in his welcoming speech.
Furthermore, he also said that the Social Assistance distributed reached more than 800 packages for residents in Simongan and Kota Lama. “On Tuesday, May 5th, we delivered 300 packages of essential food necessities, and on this day, we continue distributing 571 packages more with each containing 5 kilograms of rice, 1 liter of oil, 1 kilogram of granulated sugar, 500 ml of sweet soy sauce, and 5 packages of instant noodles. Thus, the total social assistance distributed was 871 food packages.” Heru explained.
Although Phapros has been actively distributing social assistance at its factory, the pharmaceutical company has always complied with the Covid-19 prevention protocol to ensure that the factory remains steadily safe.
Since March to May 2020, Phapros has carried out social responsibility programs dedicated for the community in the vicinity of their operational areas affected by Covid-19, such as providing 100 multivitamin boxes and 100 liters of hand sanitizers to the Central Java Provincial Government and Semarang City Government , as well as educating handwashing with soap and using cloth masks as alternative prevention of Covid-19 transmission.
